Step 2 introduce

Westernization movement, also known as self-help movement and self-improvement movement. This movement was a "self-improvement" and "seeking wealth" movement launched by the Westernization School in 19 from 1960s to 1990s, which introduced western military equipment, machine production and science and technology to maintain feudal rule. It did not make China rich and strong, but the Westernization Movement introduced advanced western science and technology, which led to the emergence of the first batch of modern enterprises in China, objectively promoted the emergence and development of Chinese national capitalism, and opened the way for China's modernization.

3. Specific content

(1) In terms of industry, the first batch of modern military enterprises and civilian enterprises were founded, creating a modern industrial atmosphere;

(2) Militarily, a new army and navy have been established, and the national defense force has been strengthened;

(3) In education, Wentong Museum, Naval Academy and Military Equipment Academy have been established, overseas students have been sent, foreign books and newspapers have been translated, and a number of talents with knowledge of Western learning have been trained;

(4) In diplomacy, the establishment of diplomatic institutions has promoted foreign exchanges.
